Medications for Respiratory Depression
Other names: Hypoventilation; Respiratory insufficiency
About Respiratory Depression: Respiratory depression occurs when the motion of air in and outside of their lungs remains inadequate. The consequent reduction of petrol flow causes a rise in carbon dioxide from the blood that contributes to acidosis (a decrease in blood pH). Conditions that could produce respiratory depression are neuromuscular disorders, lung diseases or illnesses, or medication or alcohol over dose.
